Site Monetization Guidelines

This page explains how we calculate monthly payouts for each active and unbanned partnering site.

At the end of every calendar month, the platform aggregates usage data and distributes a portion of each user’s subscription fee to partnering sites. This compensation reflects the value sites provide by delivering clean, unobstructed content.

Eligibility for Payouts

A partnering site owner is eligible for payouts only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The site is fully integrated with the platform and manually approved by our moderators. Once approved, the site status becomes Active.
  • Any telemetry collected while a site is in a Banned state is ignored.
    • Revenue that would have been attributed during a banned period is redistributed to other eligible sites, based on the rules described later in this document.

Site owners in an Active state do not need to connect a Stripe Express account immediately. Any earned balance is retained until a Stripe Express account is connected. Once connected, the full accumulated balance is paid out.

Site owners can view a breakdown of payouts per site, including the payout amount and the reason it was earned.

Types of Site Earnings

There are two categories of earnings for each site:

  • Usage-based earnings Allocated from subscribers who actively used your site during the calendar month.
  • Unattributed Revenue Pool earnings Allocated from subscribers who did not visit any partnered sites that support the feature(s) included in their subscription plan.

Monthly Payout Process

All payouts from a publisher’s active and unbanned sites are combined into a single monthly payout.

  • If no Stripe Express account is connected, the balance carries over to the next month.
  • Once a Stripe Express account is connected, the unpaid balance is transferred to the publisher’s bank account.
  • After that, payouts are calculated monthly on an ongoing basis.

Minimum payout threshold: A payout must be at least $30.00 to be transferred. Balances below this amount roll over into the next month.

Usage-Based Site Payout Calculation Rules

User engagement is primarily measured by time spent on a partnering site during the month.

At the end of the month, telemetry data is aggregated per user. Each user’s subscription fee is then distributed proportionally across the partnering sites they interacted with, based on time spent and feature compatibility.

Example #1

A user on the Clean Web (CLEAN_WEB) plan ($6/month) spends their time as follows:

  • 70% on Site A
  • 20% on Site B
  • 5% on Site C
  • 5% on Site D

Sites A, B, and C support the CLEAN_WEB feature. Site D supports only ONE_PASS.

SiteTime SpentPayout
Site A70%$4.42
Site B20%$1.26
Site C5%$0.32
Site D5%$0.00

Only sites whose enabled features overlap with the user’s subscription plan are eligible for payouts.

Example #2

A user on the Clean Web (CLEAN_WEB) plan ($6/month) does not visit any partnered sites that support CLEAN_WEB during the month.

In this case, the $6 subscription fee is distributed evenly across all publishers who have at least one active site with the CLEAN_WEB feature enabled.

Assume the following publishers and sites:

  • Publisher A: 1 site
  • Publisher B: 2 sites
  • Publisher C: 3 sites

The payout distribution would be:

PublisherSiteTime SpentPayout
Publisher ASite A.10$2
Publisher BSite B.10$1
Publisher BSite B.20$1
Publisher CSite C.10$0.66
Publisher CSite C.20$0.67
Publisher CSite C.30$0.67

One Pass Plan

The One Pass plan costs $12 per month.

  • The full $12 is allocated to sites that provide:
    • Free access behind paywalls
    • Free access to their base subscription plan
  • These sites must have the ONE_PASS feature enabled.

If the user does not visit any partnered sites with the ONE_PASS feature during the month, the $12 is distributed evenly across all publishers with active ONE_PASS sites.

Freedom Plan

The Freedom plan costs $18 per month and combines both feature sets:

  • $6 is allocated to sites with the CLEAN_WEB feature enabled
  • $12 is allocated to sites with the ONE_PASS feature enabled, including:
    • Paywall removal
    • Free access to the site’s base subscription plan

Each portion follows the same allocation rules described earlier.

Closing Thoughts

As the platform grows, partnered sites can expect revenue to scale with real user engagement.

We retain a fixed percentage of total funds (30% at present) to operate, maintain, and continuously improve the platform.

This model improves the browsing experience for users, restores revenue to publishers and creators, and supports a zero-ad web where value—not ads—drives sustainability.

Publishers, bloggers, forums, and creators of all sizes benefit from steady, predictable income without compromising their sites. This allows them to focus on creating meaningful content instead of optimizing for ad networks.
