How You Earn
At the end of each calendar month, Zero Ad Network distributes subscription revenue to partner sites. The more time subscribers spend on your site, the more you earn.
Platform operating fee: 30%. The remaining 70% flows to partner sites.
| Subscriber plan | Monthly price | Available to partner sites |
|---|---|---|
| Clean Web | $6/mo | $4.20/mo |
| One Pass | $12/mo | $8.40/mo |
| Freedom (both) | $18/mo | $12.60/mo |
Each subscriber's share is divided proportionally across the partner sites they visited that month, weighted by time spent and feature compatibility.
Usage-based earnings
Your share of a subscriber's fee equals the percentage of their total partner-site browsing time that was spent on your site - provided your site's features and their subscription overlap.
Example
A subscriber on the Clean Web plan ($6/month) spends their browsing time across partner sites like this:
| Site | Time spent | Features | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site A | 70% | Clean Web | $2.94 |
| Site B | 20% | Clean Web | $0.84 |
| Site C | 5% | Clean Web | $0.21 |
| Site D | 5% | One Pass only | $0.00 |
Site D earns nothing from this subscriber - it only supports One Pass, not Clean Web. Features must overlap between the subscriber's plan and your site's declared features.
Unattributed Revenue Pool (URP)
Some subscribers don't visit any partner sites in a given month. Their fee still goes somewhere - it's distributed equally among all eligible publishers with at least one active site whose features match the subscriber's plan.
This means you earn something every month as an eligible publisher, even without a direct subscriber visit.
The URP is split per publisher account, not per site. A publisher with three sites gets the same URP share as a publisher with one. This ensures sites with many registrations can't dominate the pool.
Example
A Clean Web subscriber ($6/month) doesn't visit any partner sites. Three publishers have active Clean Web sites:
| Publisher | Sites | URP share |
|---|---|---|
| Publisher A | 1 | $1.40 |
| Publisher B | 2 | $1.40 |
| Publisher C | 3 | $1.40 |
(Total pool after platform fee: $4.20 ÷ 3 publishers = $1.40 each.)
One Pass earnings
The One Pass plan ($12/month) works identically to Clean Web - but only sites with the ONE_PASS feature enabled receive allocations from these subscribers. If no One Pass partner sites are visited, the subscriber's fee flows to the URP for One Pass publishers.
Freedom plan earnings
The Freedom plan ($18/month) splits into two independent pools:
- $6 allocated to Clean Web-eligible sites (same rules as the Clean Web plan)
- $12 allocated to One Pass-eligible sites (same rules as the One Pass plan)
A site that supports both features earns from both pools for the same subscriber visit.
Eligibility
You receive payouts only when your site is Active - manually approved by the Zero Ad Network team after integration review. Sites in a Banned state generate no earnings; any revenue that would have been attributed is redistributed to other eligible publishers.
Your earnings accumulate in your account regardless of whether you have a payout account connected. Once you link a Stripe Express account, your full accumulated balance is transferred. Subsequent payouts are issued monthly.
Minimum payout: $30. Balances below this roll over to the next month.
Choosing what to offer
The features your site declares determine which subscribers can contribute to your earnings:
| You enable | Earn from |
|---|---|
| Clean Web only | Clean Web + Freedom subscribers |
| One Pass only | One Pass + Freedom subscribers |
| Both | All subscribers (largest earning pool) |
